New Orleans City Council District "A" Representative Susan Guidry has scheduled a town hall meeting for the Uptown area tonight from 5:30 pm to 8pm at the Audubon Tea Room, 6500 Magazine Street.
Guidry says the meeting is an opportunity for Uptown residents to express their concerns to representatives from city departments, offices, agencies and organizations.
The councilwoman says one of the top concerns is the impact streetcar repairs are having on the Riverbend area.
"The Riverbend merchants have been losing business because people are coming from downtown, tourists particularly, and where the streetcar stops for repairs they're simply getting off and getting back on and going back downtown," Guidry said.
Another top concern is the administration's decision to remove from service ladder truck 5 at the Arabella Street Fire Station.
Large drainage projects that are undweray Uptown and Tulane's new football stadium that's under construction are also top concerns that are expected to be addressed, Guidry said.
